Carrying the 1: We are our own 1%
It is our responsibility, as members of the global 1% (sloppy numbers alert!), to carry forward our responsibilities towards and in favor of the global 99% before, during, and after we have addressed the inequities against our own 1% — the struggle we are taking on now.
If you can read this, on a computer screen (or mobile device), with Internet access… Congratulations, of a sort. We are the global subset of “the 1%” and we must act in accordance with our ethical and moral obligations towards the global 99%. We’re asking ‘our’ 1% to get their shit together with us. The same is asked of us.
“Us vs them” is a damning dichotomy if you’re approaching it as teleology.
Ultimately, we are all on this planet together.
