Tag, you're it!

Here are the rules:

Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. You have to choose and tag ten people . Go to their blogs and tell them you tagged them. No tag backs. :)

Do you even do this? :3

(A bit late, but I have no business ignoring a request from Hy!)

It’s a stretch to talk abut myself… My experiences, sure. The *who* of who I am? Well…

  1. For almost a decade I’ve moved around quite frequently, between hemispheres, nations, time zones. And I want nothing more than to drop deep, unmoving roots onto a parcel of secluded land. My life consisting of things moving in and out of cardboard boxes has gotten pretty old.
  2. If it’s an instrument with strings, I can probably make some sweet, sweet music with it. Still working on getting some time on a sitar or Appalachian dulcimer at some point…
  3. I grew up in a log cabin. With frequent power outages.
  4. My hermit ways were engendered purely by chance encounters with literature and mentors. Yet my father is a member of a hermit’s order — I only connected the dots recently. Oops. (Note: He’s not some monk in some monastery, it’s a different setup than that but not enough space here.)
  5. I love learning new topics, skills, hobbies, etc. My hobby seems to be collecting new hobbies. All this is true, and here I am trying to cull out the superfluous clutter from my life.
  6. Filial drama is something for which I have no real coping mechanisms. Walking the other way (right or wrong) is the common approach.
  7. I genuinely like humanity. Once I’ve gotten away from ‘em for a while, of course.
  8. 5 years ago, I was a lighting designer for theaters. 3 years ago, an English teacher. 2 years ago, a stationery designer. 1 year ago, being mentored in Emergency Management. Now, a little bit of every darn duty in a software company. None of these professional experiences have been a waste.
  9. I hiccup after eating raw carrots.
  10. This is who I am right now. I have no idea how much of this list will still shine through in another year’s time.
